In 2025, Ametris released a new version of our academic software platform, ActiLife 7. Our legacy ActiLife data processing software was designed to provide the flexibility you need to process and analyze wearable device data. As of July 30th, 2025 all ActiLife 7 licenses are now continuous licenses.
For existing customers who are interested in switching to or are new to ActiLife 7, we’ve collected a few frequently asked questions below to inform your decision.
ActiLife 7 now gives researchers the capability to process both accelerometer and PPG sensor data collected with the ActiGraph LEAP® wearable device. This enables the collection of new vital sign measures including heart rate, heart rate variability, inter-beat interval, respiratory rate, and skin temperature. ActiLife 7 updates support additional digital measures collected with ActiGraph LEAP, including steps taken and raw IMU data.

No, PPG sensor data from the ActiGraph LEAP can only be processed in ActiLife 7.

Are there any additional steps that I need to take after I upgrade from ActiLife 6 to ActiLife 7?
Yes, once you have purchased ActiLife 7 you will need a software version update. You can use this link to download the appropriate version of the software: https://actilife.theactigraph.com/support/getactilifebykey/
You will be required to input your current ActiLife License key(s) to access and download the correct version. If you do not have or have lost your product key, please contact our customer support team.
Is ActiLife 7 compatible with ActiGraph wearable devices other than the ActiGraph LEAP?
Yes, ActiLife 7 is compatible with the GT3X device series, GT9X Link, and the ActiGraph LEAP wearable devices.
Can I still use ActiLife 6?
Yes, ActiLife 6 can still be used with GT3X and GT9X devices. However, if you would like to use the ActiGraph LEAP device, you will need to upgrade to ActiLife 7.
I purchased a term license from Ametris following 2023. Is my current license now perpetual?
All active ActiLife licenses have been automatically converted to a perpetual license on July 30th, 2025. No action is required to take advantage of our newly extended software license.
Are any of the features for the ActiLife 7 software impacted following my license being updated to a perpetual service?
All features will remain the same and your software will operate as normal.

What's included in the coverage plan?
Do I need to do anything with the data in my Data Vault if I upgrade my license?
No, if you upgrade your ActiLife license no additional steps are needed to continue using the data you have stored in your Data Vault.
